I lived in Michigan when the bridge was first started and visited the island right after my 1965 high school graduation. I loved it then and I love the website.

We are coming to the island for our 30th anniversary. There is no place like it on earth. How lucky we all are to be able to experience this. I intend to come here at least once a season and make it a tradition with my family.

I went to Mackinac Island alone years ago. Took my wife there 4 years ago,and have been there 2 other times,2006&2008,with a grand daughter. LOve it there Just can't figure out how people keep track of which bike is theirs!. Love the horse drawn wagon ride.

My husband, Jeff (born in Flint, MI), took me to this beautiful Island just a couple of weeks ago. I never wanted to leave. It was truly like stepping back in time. It was unbelievably peaceful. I never thought being without motorized transportation could be so relaxing. I just wanted to say that Mackinac Island will forever hold a special place in my heart and my husbands as well. Now I know what all the bragging was about that he's told me for years. :)

I am a friend of John (Jack) Welcher who grew up on Mackinaw Island. I had asked him a while ago to take me there and tell me of his experiences of growing up on your famous island. I had no idea there is so much history in such a small and beautiful place. I was fortunate to meet Mr. Jack Hulett, Mimi Musser of the Grand Hotel, Tom Pfeiffelmann from Star Line and author of the book Mackinac Adventures and Island Memories and cousin Kay at the Medical Center. Many more people whom I will not forget that made my trip as a fudgie memorable. I needed more time and will definately return. Jack has a lot of nice memories with his family and the carriage company that transported many famous people to their destinations while there also. He also has a book coming out soon. I also am a friend of Dick Coates who resides on the island. I missed him this trip, so I will be returning and will look him up also. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality extended. I can't say enough about Mackinaw Island...Janet Groulx
