Wow, I have been on trips more then anyone in my family and even though myy parents don't come here with me I love the wide open streets I love horses and you certainly bring back memorise to everyone! I wrote a poem for you when I was 11 years old now i'm 12
Makinaw Island is the place to be
With mom and dad and even me
for what seemed like a moment, walking on the sand is now a memory!
For one foot could step forward and another back
Was no more then a tresher
From here to there to clip clop house poll
For NO person could take me away from home!

The Island is the most magical place there is. I love the old fashioned atmosphere, the horses ,bikes and carriages. The fudge is fantastic, especially Joanns Fudge. I love being on the Island. I never want to leave once I am there!!!

Makinaw Island is probably one of the best places I have ever been for a family vacation! I am a true horse lover, so having no cars and just horses and bikes was heaven! I loved the island so much I am wanting to go there and work as a horse buggy driver when I am in college

Mackinac Island is truly one of the most lovely, relaxing places I have ever been to. I can't wait to go back. A few words of advisement, though - don't waste your money to see that geeky comedian (the only comedian on the island.) He is not funny!

Just got back from spending my 40th birthday on the island... Seriously could not ask for more! Romance was in the air with all the weddings and the bike ride around the island is something not to be missed. LOVED IT! New family tradition has begun...

For my money... the most relaxing place on earth! We are looking forward to another visit here in two weeks!!! I just had to visit the website to get into the mood for "relaxation"! I'd mention where we prefer to stay... but ALL of the lodging seems great~ Visit with us at Picture-Yourself-Remembered.com -Stan Poe

Wow! We had another great visit to Mackinac Island, It just keeps getting better and better. I would like to say "Thank You" to Dr.Weersing and RN.Weersing for stichin up my finger (I cut it while slicing a delicious carmel apple) It took 5 stiches,it is healing nicley and I have no scar! I can now say I have visited every place on the Island the medical center is beautiful. As soon as we get home we start planning our visit for next year. For anyone looking for a place to go and relax and be stress free this is the place. So, thank you Mackinac for another great visit we'll see you next year.

We just got back from Mackinac yesterday and had a phenominal time there. I really enjoyed visiting the Fort. We stayed, also, to see the Lilac Festival Parade.

I see on the site where I can bring my bike, and bring my dog, but nowhere does it say if we can bring our own horse to drive. Also no CONTACT button to ask anyone. Does anyone know? Or know how I could find out? Email me at startanew2@aol.com if you have an answer!! Thanks!

There are 2 places in Michigan that we love, the Traverse City area and Mackinac Island. I went to Mackinac Island for the first time in August of 2005. I went up for a week with my wife and 1-year old daughter (along with some other family members) and it was one of the best vacations I ever had. It's just like going back in time when you get off that ferry.
