My husband and I visited Mackinaw Island in June 2004 and it was incredible. We loved it. My favorite parts were our bike ride along the water and the fudge! We stayed at the Harbour View Inn and I would highly recommend it! It was so quaint and charming.

I just got back from the annual October MRPA (MI Recreation and Park Association) Senior Trip to Mac Island. We stayed at the Grand Hotel for 4 days/3 nights. What a treat. I highly recommend this trip to Michigan seniors single or married. It was great fun learning about the Island and the hospitality was second to none. See your local senior center for more information and join us next year!

What a beautiful and peaceful place I found Mackinac to be. My husband and I have both wanted to go there since we watched the movie Somewhere in Time. It was everything I hoped it would be and more. What a romantic place!!!!

Hi, I have to admit that I have never heard of your Island. After I have seen the movie "Some Where In Time", I wish I could visit your Island and maybe some day I will! I too, have feelings that I am from another century and a victum of a lost love! Dave

Flew from Scotland over to Ohio to be with dear friends and to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary, as a surprise they took us to the beautiful Isle of "Mackinac", we spent 2days there staying in Lake View Hotel, It was the Lilac Festival time, words can't express the wonderful time we had, great memouries, I hope I will be able to visit sometime again, bought the film "Somewhere in Time" Sending All the Best wishes to Mackinac Isle from Scotland

Wow! To anyone who hasn't been to Mackinc Island (especially if you are from Michigan) get up there soon! My family took me there almost every year when I was a kid and I try to go every year now that I am an adult. If you are a poor college student like me, then go in the early spring or late fall. The bed and breakfasts have amazing deals. If you want to be really frugal and explore things in the area as well, St. Ignace and Mackinaw City also have great rates for lodging. Make sure you avoid major conferences and events and you will get a good deal. The Island is very peaceful this time of year and you may even see some changing leaves. Mackinac Island and the surrounding area (well, and most of the UP) are what make being a Michigander so awesome! If you haven't seen the bridge, been to the Island and been called a troll by a yooper then you aren't a true Michigander. Once you visit, you will fall in love with Michigan again. It's incredible.

Just returned from a fabulous Mackinac Island. Things to do: Rent a bike and explore the island, buy some delicious fudge, enjoy the many restaurants, rent a horse drawn carriage, have brunch at The Grand Hotel, visit the Arch Rock, Devil's Kitchen, and Sugar Loaf. Look forward to returning next year and staying over night on the island.
