I've never been to M.I. but have tenative plans with my boyfriend.
I've been told that the island is an amazing place. I hope it's worth the 8 hour drive

I have been to this breathtaking island twice, and plan to go back again. I have ancestors buried at St. Anne Cemetery who were among the original pioneers here. Perhaps that is what keeps drawing me to this area. Antoine Hamel 1791-1847 and Catherine Brisset (Hamel) 1798-1870. When we visited the graveyard, we couldn't find plot 45 or 65 which are the Hamels and some tombstones were so old they had moss growing on them. This graveyard and island is so intriguing to me, I must come back. If anyone knows how I could find these tombstones, I would appreciate it.

I brought my husband to Mackinac Island for his first visit this past August. We had a marvelous time. I hadn't been to the Island in several years, but even though it's been a long, long time, the Island still has that wonderful charm and beauty. My husband can't wait for a return visit - and neither can I!

I live a VERY fast paced, too hurried life, and when I need to center myself, I look at photos of my visits to Mackinac, or visit this website. I yearn to be a resident. This place is pure magic to me! Others dream of travelling the world, I dream of coming to Mackinac...

I'm going to Mackinac Island tomorrow and I'm looking forward to it. I've been three other times, but every time I find something new to see and a new way to relax. Hooray horses and bikes BOO cars. haha.

WOW! Rick you sound like my kind of husband. What a lucky lady. I could never even get my hudband to watch "Somewhere In Time" let alone get him to go to Mackinac with me. I come every year with my son. We have a great time. I wouldn't even know what to do if my husband ever suggested he wanted to go. We live in the south and all he likes to do is watch red-neck Nascar racing!BOARING!!! I envy your wife. Keep up the romance and I'm sure she'll stick around for 25 more years.

I first fell in love with the Island from the movie, " do i dare say?" "Somewhere in Time." I'm planning a 25 wedding anniversary for my wife & I in 2007. I can't wait!

I stayed at the Grand Hotel. I had the best time ever and I met really great guys and I even fell in love with this guy named Dereck but I never told him I liked him and now I wish I did but I hope when I go back maybe in two years I see him. Mackinac Island is the best place ever, very romantic.

I have heard and read so many great things about the Island that I plan to go there soon. We actually made a discovery trip up that way to check things out. We will be returning sometime this fall to make the trip to the island and check out the beauty of it.
